Freefall in lithium prices…
Most of the column inches this month have been around the freefall in lithium chemical prices, something that we flagged as a possibility in our focus article in the October issue. As we noted in that article, the near-term oversupply in spodcon and price weakness has led to a fall in the marginal cost of production for lithium chemicals which allowed prices to go below what was previously seen as the marginal cost of production for the industry.
