CATL reveals new technologies
CATL recently held itsSuper Tech Day to unveil some key developments. After BYD’s technology day last month which announced its 1MWh fast charger, CATL announced that its Gen#2 Shenxing battery can add 520km of range in only five minutes’ of charge time. CATL believes that over 67 EV models this year will utilise the Shenxing battery but didn’t reveal how many would use the Gen#2 version. CATL also introduced a new brand for its sodium-ion batteries called Naxtra, which it said would boast energy density of 175Wh/kg, only slightly less than today’s LFP.
