Australian CQ4/21 SpodCon shipments down
Despite the strength in prices, Western Australian hard rock producers failed to increase supply in CQ4/21. This led to a decrease in shipments which were, in fact, down 3% q/q. Mine inventories declined due to the fall in production and we understand that inventories in China remain extremely depressed. Despite reported significant increases in production in Chile, lithium carbonate exports also do not seem to be rising that quickly. Chile exported 134Kt in 2021 vs 98Kt in 2020.
