Bifurcated EV market behaviour continues
It remained very much a bifurcated market for EVs in May, with sales growth in the US and Europe weak, and strong growth in China and ROW. In Europe, EV sales were down in y/y terms for the second time this year, although they were up 3% m/m after April’s 25% m/m collapse. Nevertheless they are now only eking out single digit growth rates for 2024 and the outlook for the next few months looks poor. There haven’t been too many new model launches in Europe this year and that is likely in part to blame for the anaemic sales...
