BNEF battery survey shows smaller price drop
BNEF’s annual battery price survey concluded that 2021 average battery pack prices fell 6% y/y to US$132/kWh (in 2021 US dollars). The key level of course is US$100/kWh, widely seen as price parity for EVs with ICEs. There was some quite interesting detail as well; average BEV cell prices were just US$97/kWh, Chinese pack prices were 40-60% cheaper than Europe and the US and on average cells utilising NCM technology were 10% more expensive than last year.
