BYD to put small cars at the centre of its European strategy
Local press reports that BYD has decided to put small cars at the centre of its strategy for Europe, building on the success of the Seagull inside and outside China. It hopes to make the small vehicles at its plant in Hungary from H2/25. We reported last month on BYD’s plan to bring the Seagull to Europe in 2025 but now it appears that that is only part of a wider plan. This represents a departure from BYD’s original European strategy which was to focus in the €70,000 price bracket. Sales figures in this segment appear to have fallen short...
