Carmakers ask EU to introduce mandatory EV charging infrastructure targets
The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) whose members include Volkswagen (ETR:VOW3), Ford (NYSE:F), Honda (TYO:7267) and Toyota (TYO:7203) has issued a 10-point plan to help the industry align with Europe’s Green Deal, which sets the plan for Europe to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. But while the Green Deal roadmap acknowledges that investment in charging infrastructure is needed, it states that the EU will only intervene to fill gaps on the network such as in areas of low population. Car manufacturers have pushed back against that and asked the EU to include mandatory EV charging infrastructure targets for member states...
