China flake graphite net exports fall off a cliff
China’s net exports of flake graphite hit record lows in Q4/18, not because of any significant fall in exports but because of a rise in imports. Net exports for Q4/18 were 7.3Kt, down 57% q/q and 82% y/y. This is a trend that we have seen before in many commodities and suggests to us that China could move towards a net import position in flake graphite for 2019.
