China puts recycling into focus
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MITT) announced that EV manufacturers will henceforth be required to establish EV battery recycling services in accordance with its recently issued “Guidelines for the Construction and Operation of New Energy Vehicle Battery Recycling Service Network”. Under the plan EV manufacturers can either develop their own recycling ecosystem or JV with other providers. The announcement coincided with some significant moves from Western World recycling project developers.
