Chinese cell output bounces back in Feb
Chinese cell output bounced back in February after a 50% reduction between November and January. February EV cell output hit 41.5GWh, up 47.5% from January’s 14 month low, but still well-below the 60+GWh levels hit in October and November. Nevertheless 41.5GWh is in line with the levels seen in mid-2022, so should start to see a reduction in midstream and then upstream materials inventories over the next few months.
