Chinese graphite exports crater in December
Despite reassurances to the contrary, China’s exports of both flake graphite and spherical graphite collapsed in December after the imposition of Chinese export controls. While the spike in exports in November gives some reassurance that overseas users (mainly Korean) of spherical graphite were able to build stocks in November, December exports were only c.22% of the average export level for this year (ex-November).
