Choppy recovery for equities
We’re growing increasingly confident that we’ve passed the trough in battery raw materials prices, and hence equity performance, but the recovery seems to be a little more choppy than we hoped for. Lithium prices, in particular, moved sideways over much of April and, while other battery raw materials prices (like nickel and manganese sulphate) moved up, others weren’t quite so rosy. That being said, we’re sticking with our positivity on the upstream complex for May, even despite the oft-quoted mining maxim “sell in May and go away”!
