Could a million-mile battery be a reality?
A new paper by Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) battery guru, Jeff Dahn, has opened the lid on the potential for an EV battery to last for over one million miles. Dahn, who carries out battery research for Tesla, hopes that a next-generation cell consisting of a “single crystal” NMC cathode and a new advanced electrolyte could power a battery for a million miles vs current Tesla battery life of 300,000 to 500,000 miles.
