December Materials Ranking: Spodumene up
Nickel still stops our Materials ranking in December but it looks likely that we are nearing the price trough in Lithium and Spodumene concentrate has moved up three places over the past few months. Lithium chemicals are still at the bottom of our ranking but their actual scores have improved in recent months. Cobalt and REE were the month's fallers. Cobalt on the end of the re-stocking event and REE as the improvement in trade relations between the US and China highlighted weak near-term fundamentals.
