Do Salton Sea issues mean trouble for DLE?
The decision of the US government to rescind a grant made to Berkshire Hathaway for development of lithium production from its Salton Sea geothermal power operations seems to suggest further issues with commercialising DLE extraction in geothermal lithium resources. The Salton Sea, often haled as an exciting source of lithium, continues to be difficult to develop. BH has struggled to extract lithium from the super-hot brines (averaging 371°C).
