EV sales growth remains robust in July
Global EV sales totalled 1.15M units in July, down 11% m/m, but still up 40% y/y and 40% y/y for the first seven months of the year. BYD retained its position as the world’s largest supplier, with a 23% global market share in July, well outpacing Tesla on 10%. YTD, BYD has sold c.1.5m units globally vs Tesla’s 1.0m units. In China, sales were down 6% m/m in line with seasonality at 688K units, and are up 36% y/y YTD. BYD continues to perform extremely strongly, with five models in the top ten.
