GM launches Ultium battery system
General Motors (NYSE:GM) has become the latest in a line of auto OEMs to launch a dedicated modular battery electric vehicle infrastructure, which will be called the BEV3 system using Ultium batteries. In a major event at the beginning of March, GM announced that its new architecture would be a JV with LG Chem (KRX:051910) and would underpin all of its EVs under the Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick brand names.
