Graphite shortage grows in China
The closure of synthetic graphite capacity because of power shortages and enhanced environmental regulation is starting to have an impact on the graphite supply/demand balance. In widely reported comments early in December, CATL (SHE:300750) reportedly said that it is “desperate” to secure a supply of graphite as 2021’s graphite supply surplus looks very ready to change into a deficit in 2022.
