We wanted to talk about lithium chemicals prices for a minute this month because a lot is written about them and, in particular, a lot is written erroneously about them in our view. One particular investment bank, whose research we read regularly (and which shall remain nameless!), uses Chile’s lithium carbonate exports, and the realised price of Chile’s (and often SQM’s) LC exports, as an indicator of lithium carbonate prices.
