Lithium prices keep falling. Where will it end?
The GFEX lithium price briefly traded below Rmb60,000/t (US$8.3/kg) at the end of May. Prior to the most recent move down, the support level had been closer to Rmb70,000/t (US$9.7/kg). Yet prices keep falling and lithium producers keep producing. So, one imagines, the direction in the near-term if likely to remain down. Until we start to see material amounts of capacity being closed, it’s really difficult to see lithium prices stabilising.
