Lithium still on a tear, everything else consolidates
Lithium chemical prices continued to bound ahead in March, with the Spodumene concentrate price the top performing battery material, up 26% for the month. While the print for our price series is US$565/t for the end of the month, I have heard of SC6 prices as high as US$685-700/t FOB Western Australia, which suggests further momentum in CIF China prices in April. Industry contacts are suggesting that there’s room for SC6 prices to rise to US$750/t before converters will suffer substantial margin erosion.
