Mining royalties on the rise
The news earlier this month that India set a royalty rate on the mining of lithium having previously not enforced one set tongues aflutter. The Asian country introduced a rate of 3% of prices prevailing on the LME, perhaps highlighting its lack of understanding of an industry where Chinese spot prices are very much the benchmark.
