More capital raised in Jan-Feb than whole of 2020
More capital was raised by battery material producers and developers in January and February than in the whole of 2020, according to our February Financing Tracker. US$2.6bn was raised in February, taking the total raised for year to date 2021 to US$3.2bn, compared with the US$2.5bn raised during the whole of 2020. The amount raised was the highest in a single month since our records begin in January 2018. Lithium once again dominated in terms of sub-sectors, with US$2.9bn raised from 17 deals, including the US$1.3bn raised by Albemarle (NYSE:ALB) and US$685m by Ganfeng Lithium (HKG:1772).
