Over 700GWh of battery capacity delayed or cancelled in US/Europe
We’re often asked how much battery capacity has been taken off the table in recent years. Well, we’ve recently completed a project to check these cancellations in our battery project monitor and the results are worrying. We’ve tracked over 700GWh of cell manufacturing factory cancellations in the US and Europe since the start of 2023. While many of the plants were independents which we hadn’t really expected to succeed anyway, a number of them were also bigger groups which we had expected to push forward.
