Red tape in US, Europe holding back battery materials development
As we’ve flagged a number of times before, red tape is one of the key factors holding up battery materials development in the EU and US. Ford (NYSE:F) obviously recognises this as well and has requested that the Biden administration speed up the permitting process for critical mineral mining projects. It noted that critical mineral permitting may take up to 10 years in the US, whereas it takes only 1-3 years in Canada and Australia.
