Signs of inflection point in lithium
While we’ve been more positive on spodumene concentrate for several months, we are now seeing much broader signs of an inflection point throughout the lithium complex. Prices for spodumene concentrate, lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide were flat throughout September, and LC and OH prices were also flat in August. This is the first time we have seen such a stabilization since prices peaked in early-2018. Traders indicate that they are seeing prices inch up in some carbonate and hydroxide grades in China, and spodumene concentrate shipments are anecdotally easier to fill.
