Spodumene S/I ratio suggests further weakness
Western Australian spodumene concentrate imports were down again in August and the shipments to inventory ratio for Western Australian producers went below 1.0 in CQ2/19. We're keeping a close eye on this as an indicator of recovery in activity, but so far there's no evidence. Spodumene concentrate prices fell a further 13% in September suggesting that inventories in the system remain high and it's difficult to see a catalyst for recovery in the near-term...
