Tesla pulls the trigger on nickel with BHP
BHP (ASX/LSE:BHP) has snagged Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) as an offtake partner for its Nickel West operations in Western Australia. While the size of the offtake deal has not been confirmed, Nickel West is a substantial producer with 89Kt of production over the last 12 months. It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that BHP has announced that it would build two solar farms and a battery storage system to support the Nickel West operations, displacing power currently supplied by diesel and gas turbines.
