UAE to build world’s biggest BESS
Every few months at the moment we seem to hear about a new “world’s biggest BESS project”. But we can’t help but think that Abu Dhabi’s state-controlled Masdar might have taken the crown for some time to come. It is planning a 5.2GW solar plant linked to 19GWh of storage capacity. The US$6bn project will be based in the dessert outside Abu Dhabi and has lofty ambitions.
