Up, up and away for lithium prices
Perhaps by the time we publish this the trend may have reversed but, as we write it, Chinese lithium carbonate futures prices have been up for six days out of seven and equities have followed. There are a number of reasons for this bounce in prices, but the bulk of it seems to be down to speculative activity ahead of a presumed restocking event for cathode makers after the Lunar New Year holidays.
