US and Australia build out anti-China critical mineral strategies
The EV industry was all-a-twitter in May about the announcement of US Section 301 tariffs on Chinese EVs, cells and the battery supply chain, but it wasn’t the only country that announced major changes to its critical minerals strategy during the month. Australia also announced some major changes to its own Embracing the Future Made in Australia Investment Framework as part of its May 2024 Federal Budget.
