US resi solar/storage financing raised US$7.8bn in 2022
BNEF estimates that specialised financial companies that provide loans for residential installations of solar and storage products in the US raised US$7.8bn in 2022. While that’s a big number, it’s down substantially on the US$16.3bn which was raised in 2021, and it’s primarily because of a fall in loans, which have presumably been impacted by higher interest rates. Average coupon rates for high quality loans, leases and power purchase agreements was 4.3% in 2022, up from 2% in 2021.
