Wait and see on lithium; stick with Explorers
Our lithium baskets had a very strong January as reality set in and the market shrugged off its end of year concerns. Once again, the Explorers basket was the best-performing one, and we would expect that to continue going forward. While things may pause a little in the first half of February due to the Lunar New Year hangover (we are seeing migrant workers stay with their families for longer, meaning that the expected bounce back of China’s industrial complex has been delayed), we still expect re-stocking activity to come through in battery raw materials towards the end of February...
